Two nature stays in the hills — one above Ooty in the Nilgiris, one deep in the forest in Wayanad — run by people who would much rather you made your own coffee.
The idea
Two words on the bottom of everything we make, and they are not decoration. The forest was here a long time before the cabins were, the cabins are guests in it, and for a night or two so are you. Co-exist is the whole arrangement.
Which is why nothing here has been flattened for your convenience. The track stays a track. The last stretch is on foot at both properties, and uphill in Ooty. The cold after dark is real cold, and the only heating is the layer you brought and a fire that everybody shares. Bison graze the meadow below the Ooty cabins and nobody moves them along.
What you get back for all of that is the thing people actually came for. Mist rolling over endless green valleys in the morning. Birdcall you cannot name. A sky with far too many stars in it, and no one at all asking whether everything is to your satisfaction.
Silence becomes serenity, not emptiness.

This is the brand’s own framing and we would rather you heard it here than worked it out on arrival.
A community of people joined together to give you a stay experience in nature. cabins scattered through two forests — A-frames, treehouses, hobbit houses, wagon pods — a mountain café in Ooty, a natural stream in Wayanad, and a fire that goes up every single night.
Dinner with barbecue and breakfast are part of the stay at both properties. So is the walk in, the quiet, and whoever else happens to be sitting at the fire when you get there.
Not a luxury resort. Come expecting a forest, not a five-star. There is no reception desk, no room service and nobody to carry your bag — bring one you can carry and walk with, and please leave the trolley at home.
Self service throughout. Please co-operate: it is exactly what keeps the place feeling like a camp instead of a hotel, and it is the reason the rates read the way they do.
Two forests
They were built years and a mountain range apart, and they ended up with the same rules, the same fire and the same lack of a reception desk.
Self service, low impact
Renewable choices quietly power your comfort at the Ooty property. You will most likely never notice them, which is roughly the point — nothing here is meant to announce itself.
Everything else is you. You make your own coffee. You carry your own bag, because the last stretch is on foot. You keep the music down, because sound carries a very long way out here and most people came for the quiet. If you drink, you drink on your own balcony rather than in the café or the fire circle.
None of that is a hardship. It is simply what a place feels like when nobody is being waited on — and it is why the forest around the cabins still behaves like forest.
